So you need some more business and you’re considering a Google Adwords campaign to generate some more leads to your website. You’ve already optimised your landing page just as my Personal Trainer Marketing plans demonstrates and you’ve followed my Adwords Tips. So now you need to know which keywords to bid on.
It’s quick and easy to do a bit of research but you should be careful not to use all the keywords Google suggests whilst creating your campaign, you will blow your budget far too quickly. Google even gives you a tool to do this. It’s called Google External Keyword Tool. Simply put in your chosen keywords e.g Personal Trainer Manchester and it will show you how many searches were conducted last month. You tend to find with Personal Trainer keywords that you only need to bid on 3 – 5 variations at most (you could even target just Personal Trainer plus your location).
At the time of writing (Sept 2009) there were 8100 searches per month for Personal Trainer London and 1600 for Personal Trainer Manchester. So purely broadmatching this single search term should be enough to generate you new business. But be careful Personal Trainer Keywords are notoriously expensive! Personal Trainer London comes in at a whopping £2 – £2.78 to appear on Page 1 and Personal Trainer Manchester at £1.31. What i seriously advise is to consider joining PTHub.co.uk as a premium member. We run your adwords inclusive in the monthly fee, and as an advertiser with a large budget we get a lower cost per click than a sole personal trainer advertising. So you get more bang for your money!
Whatever you decide to do, Good Luck and spend wisely!
